Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the “AI and the Law” course portal (the “Service”), operated for the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University, collects, uses, and protects information about students and instructors who use it. The Service is provided for educational purposes in connection with the AI and the Law course (June – July 2026).

Information we collect

  • Google account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google profile. We use Google OAuth solely to authenticate you; we never see or store your Google password.
  • Profile details you provide. Your first name, last name, preferred name, and academic status, which you enter when you first sign in.
  • Course activity. Your responses to quizzes, surveys, and exercises, along with any scores or feedback assigned by instructors.

How we use information

  • To authenticate you and provide access to the course portal.
  • To deliver course activities and record your submissions.
  • To allow instructors to review, grade, and give feedback on your work.
  • To administer the course (attendance, participation, evaluation).

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. Your submissions and profile are visible to the course instructors. Information is stored using our hosting and database providers solely to operate the Service. We may disclose information if required by law or to comply with the policies of Chulalongkorn University.

Google user data

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request only your basic profile (name and email) for authentication and do not use it for advertising.

Data retention

We retain your information for the duration of the course and a reasonable period afterward for academic recordkeeping. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting the course coordinator.

Your choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting the course coordinator. You can also revoke this application’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions.
